23rd March 2018
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We have had a most enjoyable final week of term with so many lovely activities to celebrate Easter and the arrival of our holidays. !
Our Student Council with Amanda and Ian did a wonderful job on Wednesday organising the treasure hunt for classes. The school was buzzing with activity and excitement as children scurried around looking for the elusive clues! Meanwhile fifty of our children went to Griffeen Valley Park to take part in our second cross country race. We had excellent performances on the day, despite the cold and muddy conditions underfoot, with almost every child improving on their previous performance. Well done to all on your brilliant performances. Later on our camogie girls played their hearts out to win their third match At Sarsfields. Well done to Grace and the girls.
It was a really busy but great day and no doubt we had some very tired children at the end of the day’s activities.
Every year our Easter raffle seems to generate more and more excitement and this year’s event was amazing for the children. Thanks to your generosity we had such a wonderful array of prizes, easter eggs and goodies of every taste. All were beautifully wrapped by our hard working volunteers who put such an effort into creating a really colourful Easter display. In total we had 120 prizes to raffle with two eggs to raffle for each class. To date we have received €2424 in ticket money. Thank you so much to everyone for your wonderful support and generosity to this and the many events we organise in the school each year and which makes it possible for us to continue to improve and develop our resources.
There was a great splash of yellow in the school today as we joined in the many events being organised nationwide for the Irish Cancer Society. Our Student Council were busy once again helping out in the collection of money and thanks also to the Parents and friends who joined us yesterday for our coffee morning. The sum of €452.29 was collected in total which is fantastic and hopefully will be of enormous benefit to the society in supporting families on this journey.
Finally we would like to wish you all a lovely relaxing holiday and hopefully some Spring weather to get out and about. Thank you to everyone.
Kind regards,
Mary
