Lucan Educate Together
12th January 2019
A very warm welcome back to school and a Happy New Year to you all. We hope you all had a very enjoyable holiday with family and friends and are returning feeling uplifted and refreshed by the celebrations over the holidays.
Everyone has made a very positive start at school to the school term. This week our theme has been new beginnings and setting ourselves realistic goals for the term ahead. We will develop this over the weeks through our exploration of our value of the month
‘Determination’. Our world religion this month is Buddhism .
Our newly formed Green Team met with Catriona from An Taisce this week to discuss plans for our next Green Flag which will fo-cus on the theme of travel. Over the next few months our Green team will be encouraging everyone to look at the possibility of al-ternative forms of transport to/from school which will be more en-vironmentally friendly. Lets hope that as we see the arrival of Spring, we will see more families walking/scooting /cycling to school. Please ensure if your child is cycling to school ,they bring a lock for bicycle. It is great to see so many cycling already and we are looking at the provision of more bike racks and shel-ters ...also on our Wish list.
Our Student Fun Run in December raised €220 For the DSPCA. Thanks to all those who helped organise this event and thanks for supporting this student initiative.
