Maeve's 1st class trip to Imaginosity

We went to Imaginosity for a workshop all about solids, liquids and gases. We even got to make and keep our own slime - which is a bit like a liquid AND a bit like a solid!

Nursery Rhymes - Baa Baa Black Sheep

Junior Infants learned a number of nursery rhymes in September and October.

We created our very own version of Baa Baa Black Sheep - with white wool!

We hope you enjoy our display.

Junior Infant Games

Yvonne and Karen's Junior Infant Classes have been learning new games together on the Astroturf.

We have enjoyed playing the following games together:

  • Cups and Saucers
  • Shipwreck
  • Busy Bees
  • Call the Number
  • Sun and Snowballs
  • Flush the Toilet
  • Stuck in the Mud
  • Traffic Lights

Autumn Nature Walk

Both Junior Infant classes joined each other for an Autumn Nature Walk around our school.

We used our senses to explore nature around us:

- What can you see?

- What can you hear?

- What can you feel?

- What can you smell?

We collected some autumn leaves and created a Nature Table.

The Rainbow Fish - Junior Infants

Junior Infants engaged with the story The Rainbow Fish as part of Friendship Week in LETNS.

You can also listen to our story here: https://www.storylineonline.net/books/the-rainbow-fish/

We enjoyed discussing the importance of sharing with our friends and being kind to each other.

We created our very own beautiful Rainbow Fish display!

Super Star Dancers!

Senior infants love to get up and move about after working hard during maths or literacy stations. Our favourite GoNoodle at the moment is Footloose!

Maths Stations in Senior Infants

Shauna's class have been working on matching and sorting objects. The children worked independently to make non equivalent sets of objects up to 10. The also played snap in pairs and practiced number formation.

Friendship Week in Junior Infants

This week in school is 'Friendship Week'. We have been talking about our new friends at school. We have also been learning about what good friends do. As well as this, we have completed a friendship jigsaw piece. We worked in pairs, sharing and decorating a jigsaw piece together. We will put the pieces together to create our own class jigsaw.

English Stations in Junior Infants

Junior Infants have also started English stations. This week our nursery rhyme of the week is 'Twinkle, Twinkle'. Our English stations are based on this nursery rhyme. We are working on retelling the nursery rhyme, identifying the rhyming words and developing pre-writing skills through these activities. Take a look at some of our activities in the photos below.

Maths Stations in Junior Infants

Junior Infants have started maths stations. This week and last week, the children have been working on identifying the colours through sorting, matching and classifying. They have had lots of fun completing their station activities. Take a look at some of our station work in the photos below.
