Hurling and Camogie update; Football in September

Well done to our girls' camogie and boys' hurling teams, who finished up last week in the Cumann na mBunscol competition.  Both teams topped their respective groups.  The girls had a wonderful quarter-final match against Scoil Oilbhéir at Lucan Sarsfields, and were pipped at the post this time. The boys played in a pulsating semi-final against GaelScoil Uí Earcáin, losing out in extra time, after the teams were all square at normal full time.

April Cross Country

Our April Cross Country Race took place on Wednesday 6th. The weather was much more favourable this time around and suited our athletes much better. The teams performed exceptionally well with many children placed in all of the races. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and everyone is looking forward to the final cross country race in May. Take a look at the video to see our LETS runners in action!

March Cross Country Races

Our second schools cross country race took place on Wednesday March 2nd. The weather conditions were far from ideal with wind, mud and very cold rainshowers! However, there were suberb performances from all classes. The competing children really gave it their all and spirits were high despite the tough conditions. Well done to all competitors. The next race will be after the holidays and trials will be open to everyone.

February Cross Country Races

Here's a selection of photos from Wednesday's races. All the students who participated did Lucan Educate Together proud! The hard work put in during Friday lunch time runs was definitely evident. Well done to all! More news to follow!

Football Win

Well done to our 4th - 6th class football team, who won their match against Adamstown Castle ETNS yesterday! The boys showed excellent teamwork, skill and determination on the pitch, coming away with a win of 7-4. We are very proud of their achievement!

Athletics in LETS 2015

Athletics in LETS 2015

The children from 3rd to 6th classes have been training with Mary and Tom all year.  They have had lunch time training sessions and have competed at many cross-country events, near and far during the course of the year.  Some were very gruelling races held in very difficult weather conditions but the children battled on.  As a result the increased fitness levels and determination were shown yesterday as the children competed once again at the final event in Corkagh Park.   A huge thank you to all who helped out on the day and massive congratulations to all the children who took part.

Green Day

Our school was a sea of green today as we had a very busy action day as we continue to work towards our first green flag.  We started the day with two wonderful assemblies.  Many classes showed us their wonderful art creations using recycled materials.  We had songs and poems around the theme of recycling and caring for the environment.  We had a detailed account of 5th class’s trip to Ballymount Recycling Centre where we learned some very interesting fact about where and how our waste is disposed of.  Parents were then invited to view all the art projects on display around the school.  The children were also involved in many activities in their classrooms around the theme of recycling.  It was a great day an
